Not all winning designs have to be very complex, require high-end materials or involve stunning 3D renderings in order to be brought to completion. This small apartment bedroom design has a perfect combination of style, privacy and practicality without being over-designed. The bed area is open to the living room below, offering openness as well as relative privacy for anyone lying down upstairs as well. A step down from an upper landing creates a further sense of enclosure and at the same time serving as a convenient shelf, a kind of impromptu bedside table for favorite reading, lamps etc. Bedding colors and basic primary paint add variety to the linear spaces and minimalist and reasonably priced plywood frame the structure.
Usually everything you need is a bit of relaxation, silence and maybe some sleep. However sometimes you need a bit of natural light, openness and sound. The very best bedroom designs strike a perfect harmony between practical extremes, able to be closed off completely when required. Alma-Nac created this small apartment bedroom, working within a standard palette of wood and white. Therefore, the interior was designed to be not only a bedroom however, a private work/reading room too, complete with built-in shelving and easy ways to seal oneself in with a good reading. The central point of link with the lower-level floor plan is actually a horizontal interior slot window over which a folding wooden divider can easily be slid. Locked in this privacy-enabling position, it seems almost like a decorative touch (and not an actual spatial separator) which complements the wood stairs as well as hardwood floors.
