What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these three brands, the company sells several mattress models, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: Individuals with more particular firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples trying to find a mix of pressure relief and bounce Most online bed mattress are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic stands apart. For this review, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for a number of weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve interviewed ratings of experts in the bed mattress market and in products science; gone to lots of bed mattress factories, showrooms, and shops; and pored over the fine print on requirements, guarantees, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley assessed the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her home for several weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brand names. We do know that the company uses thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to fiberglass or chemicals) and only organic cotton (rather of synthetic blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such additionals as zoned layers for “ideal spinal column assistance”; we’re less impressed with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and resilient foams and coils.
