What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Between these 3 brands, the company sells several mattress models, consisting of the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Perfect for: People with more particular firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples searching for a combination of pressure relief and bounce Most online mattresses are foams or hybrids, so the Saatva Classic stands out. It’s one of the few innerspring bed mattress you can conveniently buy online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a good amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Business’s mattresses, the Saatva Classic is delivered by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also offers a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.

Note: Saatva recently upgraded the Zenhaven, altering the kind of latex used in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now features Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; learn more about the differences below. We plan to evaluate the brand-new variation quickly and will update this guide with our impressions.
The all-foam Zenhaven consists primarily of latex, which is fundamentally resilient. The Zenhaven is also flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Mild Company side feels a bit firmer), which may prove helpful if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs alter with time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it provides a flexible cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its inherent resilience, the Zenhaven needs to work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven bed mattress for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were likewise evaluated in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam mattresses and the finest innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior staff writer for sleep, I’ve spoken with scores of experts in the bed mattress industry and in materials science; checked out lots of mattress showrooms, stores, and factories; and pored over the fine print on specs, warranties, and return policies. Most just recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “eco-friendly” brand names. But we do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or organic wool as a flame retardant (rather than chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress business, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spine assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer support and long lasting foams and coils.
