What mattress is better than Saatva?
Established in 2010, Saatva specializes in direct-to-consumer luxury mattresses under 3 brand names: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic a great amount of bounce near the top, and a luxurious top includes softness. As with all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box.
Factors to consider: Saatva Mattress Topper Off Gas
The Saatva’s comfort system utilizes thinner layers of foam than numerous hybrid models. These thinner layers of foam integrated with the Euro-top’s fiber fill absorb some motion, minimizing how much motion is felt across the surface of the bed. Sleepers may still experience some movement transfer when their partner changes position or gets up throughout the night due to the mattress’s two layers of springs. Thanks to its softer feel, the Plush Soft version of the Saatva absorbs a little more movement than the Luxury Firm and Firm alternatives. While all of the Saatva firmness options have pressure-relieving potential, the quantity of pressure relief that an individual experiences on the mattress will differ based partially on their weight and sleep position. People who weigh under 130 pounds will likely experience the most push relief on the Plush Soft version of the mattress, while sleepers over 230 pounds will likely get the very best balance of contouring and assistance from the Company variation.Note: Saatva just recently updated the Zenhaven, changing the type of latex utilized in its foam layers. The Zenhaven now includes Dunlop latex, instead of Talalay latex; read more about the differences below. We plan to test the new variation soon and will upgrade this guide with our impressions.https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qaAjJvmj8zo
The all-foam Zenhaven consists mostly of latex, which is fundamentally long lasting. The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the Luxury Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Firm side feels a bit firmer), which may prove valuable if you’re unsure what you prefer or if your requirements alter with time. This is not a conventionally soft bed mattress, but it offers a supple cushion, excellent edge assistance, and a subtle springiness. Given its innate toughness, the Zenhaven should work well for people who weigh more than 200 pounds.
These mattresses were also evaluated in our group tests carried out for Wirecutter’s guides to the best foam bed mattress and the best innerspring bed mattress. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel writer for sleep, I’ve talked to scores of experts in the mattress industry and in materials science; visited dozens of bed mattress factories, shops, and showrooms; and pored over the fine print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies.

We haven’t yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. But we do understand that the business uses thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (instead of chemicals or fiberglass) and just natural cotton (instead of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online mattress companies, Saatva touts such bonus as zoned layers for “optimal spinal column support”; we’re less pleased with those functions and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and durable foams and coils.
