What mattress is better than Saatva?
Founded in 2010, Saatva concentrates on direct-to-consumer high-end mattresses under three trademark name: Saatva, Loom & Leaf, and Zenhaven. In between these 3 brands, the company sells numerous mattress designs, including the all-foam Loom & Leaf;& Leaf; the latex Zenhaven; the airbed, Solaire; and the hybrid Saatva. Ideal for: Individuals with more particular firmness choices Sleepers of any size and sleep position Those who tend to sleep hot Couples looking for a combination of pressure relief and bounce The majority of online mattresses are hybrids or foams, so the Saatva Classic sticks out. It is among the few innerspring bed mattress you can easily purchase online. Pocketed coils offer the Saatva Classic an excellent amount of bounce near the top, and a plush top adds softness. Likewise, similar to all of the Saatva Company’s bed mattress, the Saatva Classic is provided by movers, rather than in a box. Saatva also uses a generous 180-day trial period and simple returns.

The Zenhaven is likewise flippable (the High-end Plush side feels medium-firm, while the Gentle Company side feels a bit firmer), which might prove valuable if you’re not sure what you choose or if your needs change over time. This is not a traditionally soft bed mattress, but it uses a supple cushion, good edge support, and a subtle springiness.
For this evaluation, I slept on the Saatva Classic, the Loom & Leaf, and the Zenhaven mattresses for several weeks in my own house. These mattresses were also assessed in our group tests conducted for Wirecutter’s guides to the finest foam mattresses and the finest innerspring mattresses. As Wirecutter’s senior personnel author for sleep, I’ve talked to ratings of professionals in the bed mattress market and in materials science; visited dozens of mattress factories, showrooms, and shops; and read the small print on requirements, service warranties, and return policies. Most recently, monitoring editor Courtney Schley evaluated the Saatva Latex Hybrid in her house for a number of weeks.

We have not yet done a deep dive into the “natural” claims of Saatva or of other “environmentally friendly” brands. We do know that the business utilizes thistle pulp or natural wool as a flame retardant (as opposed to chemicals or fiberglass) and only natural cotton (rather of artificial blends) in its covers. As do other online bed mattress companies, Saatva touts such extras as zoned layers for “optimum spinal column assistance”; we’re less pleased with those features and more appreciative of Saatva’s responsive customer care and long lasting foams and coils.
